Earlier this year, the MetLife Mature Market Institute surveyed families across three generations, focusing on how families planned for their financial futures, and how each generation identified what mattered most to them. The survey showed that individuals across all generations want to provide for their family members in financial areas—college costs, ensuring finances for dependents, or helping an elderly family member in need.
The survey helped MetLife compile some helpful planning tips for those who are planning out the financial responsibilities of their family. It deals with such questions as: Can you or should you help your children or grandchildren financially? Do your parents need financial assistance? Tips can be found in MetLife’s Planning Tips: Preparing for Family Financial Responsibilities Across the Generations.
